Our infant classroom provides high-quality care in an environment designed with the baby in mind. This classroom is the baby’s home away from home. Where babies will feel safe, secure, and happy. Warm, caring teachers bond and develop trust with your child. Your child will be introduced to the Bible, music, books, and much more. Updates will be given throughout the day on bottles, diapers, sleep, and any questions you might have.

At one, children are consistently meeting new opportunities. Children thrive developmentally in a warm, engaging, and stimulating environment. Developmentally appropriate and challenging activities are included in lesson plans and daily schedules. Our teachers are dedicated to helping each child accomplish their skills through loving and trusting relationships. Updates are given on meal and nap times, and other activities throughout the day.

Program
Two year olds
This classroom is full of activities that promote social/emotional development, language/communication skills, cognitive development, and movement/physical development. Our teachers patiently assist children and families through the challenges of building communication skills, learning boundaries through exploration, and toilet training. We will introduce circle time with early learning basics (letters, colors, shapes), manipulative play, sensory tables, dramatic play, music, and lots and lots of physical activity!

Four year olds
Welcome to Norwalk Christian Academy’s Preschool program for four year olds. If your child is four by September 15th of the current school year, they can attend our Universal Preschool Program, funded by the statewide voluntary preschool grant.
Four year old wrap around care
If your child is in this program, they will attend preschool in the morning and childcare in the afternoon.” The wrap around care teacher works closely with the UPK teacher to implement learning during their time at daycare.

CURRICULUM
Our four year old program uses The Creative Curriculum and is supplemented with:
- Bridges for Math
- Foundations for handwriting and for phonological awareness and letter sound support in line with our approach to early reading in kindergarten.
Our four year old program uses the following assessments:
- The Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment System is an authentic, observational assessment system. It records student progress in all developmental areas at the beginning, middle, and end of the year.
- Early Literacy Individual Growth and Development Indicators (IGDIs) are given at the beginning, middle, and end of the year to monitor the growth of early literacy skills.
